Why do trailers need aluminum siding?
Trailers are exposed to harsh environments such as rain, snow, UV rays and road salt spray all year round, and ordinary metal materials are prone to rust and deformation. Canadian aluminum siding is made of rust-resistant aluminum alloy such as 5052/H112, with nano-coating treatment on the surface, which can resist extreme temperature changes from -40℃ to 80℃2, and will not crack or fade even after long-term exposure to sun and rain.
a) Advantages
Super Corrosion Resistance: Aluminum is inherently rust-resistant, and when paired with an oxidation or painting process, the siding can resist corrosion from rain, snowmelt, oil and dirt. Canada's winter roads use a lot of snowmelt salt, traditional steel is easy to be corroded and perforated, while the life of aluminum can be more than 15 years.
Lightweight and Fuel Saving: Aluminum panels are only 1/3 the weight of steel panels, which reduces the weight of the trailer by 10%-15% after installation, and improves the cargo capacity while reducing fuel consumption. For example, a 30-foot trailer can lose 200-300 kilograms by switching to aluminum siding.
Maintenance-free and cost-saving: The special surface treatment process makes it difficult for stains to adhere, and can be kept clean by daily rinsing with water. There is no need for regular painting and rust prevention as with steel panels, which saves about $500 CAD per year in maintenance costs (based on a medium-sized trailer).
b) Technical Highlights
Nano antifouling coating: verified by hydrophobic test, water droplet contact angle >110°, dust flows away automatically with rainwater;
High-strength structure: H112 heat treatment process enhances the rigidity of the aluminum plate, which can withstand the vibration impact of 63-ton heavy-duty vehicles;
Rapid installation design: the plates are pre-prepared with snap slots and screw holes, supporting direct connection with steel frames, wooden structures and other kinds of vehicle bodies, increasing construction efficiency by 40%.
c) Application Scenario
Cargo trailer: protect the side panels from cargo impact and rainwater penetration;
Caravan/camping trailers: lightweight design improves mobility and convenience, aluminum insulation reduces temperature fluctuations inside the vehicle;
Special engineering trailers: excellent performance in corrosive environments such as mines, oil and gas fields, and 3 times longer life than traditional materials.
d) Service Support
Customized production: Thickness 1.5-30mm optional, support laser cutting to any size (such as common specifications: 1220×2440mm, 1500×3000mm);
Quality certification: comply with CSA G40.21 Canadian standard, provide 10-year warranty commitment;
