Recycling of aluminum scrap in the construction industry

The average life cycle of architectural aluminum is about 30 years, sometimes even longer. The peak period of scrapping of our architectural aluminum has not really arrived yet, but frequent building renovations will still result in more and more scrap aluminum.

The vast majority of aluminum used in construction is extruded parts, used in doors, windows and glass panels. There are also a lot of aluminum sheets used in roofs, ceilings, walls and facade cladding. Other aspects include door and window handles, lightweight connectors, solar panels, etc.

Most of the aluminum used in the construction field has a surface protective layer, which can improve corrosion resistance. Most of the surface protective layers have undergone various anodizing treatments.

From the perspective of recycling, scrap aluminum in the construction field is a relatively high-quality waste material, because it is easier to distinguish when recycling. For example, aluminum plates used for doors and windows, interior and exterior walls or roofs can be easily distinguished from scrap aluminum from other channels by their appearance.
