Author:Aluminum Sheeting for Trailers_Aluminum Trailer Siding Sheets_Mingsheng Aluminum Update time:2025-04-16 08:50:01(9) Sign Setting for Exit Only Lane of Interchange
In the mainline section before the exit of the interchange, if instead of setting up a short exit deceleration lane, a through exit only lane is set up, the message " EXIT ONLY" in black letters on a yellow background is added to the lower part of the elevated exit teaser sign and the exit indication sign. For right exit preview signs, the addition of " EXIT ONLY" is accompanied by a vertically downward-facing lane indicator arrow, but for left exits, where a diagrammatic preview sign is provided, the lane indicator arrow is no longer provided because the sign graphics already show the lane distribution.
(10) Installation of Interchange Serial Signs
If the spatial distance between interchanges of highways and expressways is relatively small, especially in urban areas, so that there is not enough spacing for wayfinding signs, then interchange serial signs can be installed to simultaneously foretell the relevant information of the next 2 or 3 exits of the interchanges. The Interchange Sequence Sign consists of a series of signs that sequentially display the name or route number of the destination to which the next two or three exits from the interchange can be accessed, as well as the distance to the exit. The first sign of the series is set at a suitable location in front of the first interchange exit, and subsequent series signs are generally set in the middle of the area between the two interchanges, and the series signs are set in the center median, with the height of the signs being basically equivalent to that of overhead signs.
(11) Installation of Multiple Interchange Exit Forewarning Signs for the Same Community
When a highway or expressway passes through a tourist attraction area or a large urban area, there are often multiple interchanges in a row that serve the same community, so a sign is required to forewarn of multiple interchanges in that community at the same time, usually at an appropriate location in front of the first forewarning sign for the first interchange exit. The top row of this type of advance warning sign is separated by a white line to highlight the name of the community and the plural “EXITS” for “EXITS”, and the rows below the white line show the destinations and distances of the interchanges in order of arrival, with the destinations including roadway names or roadway numbers. If multiple exits serving the same community are not easily identifiable, or if there are more than three exits, it is also possible to announce only the name of the community and the number of exits "NEXT EXITS".
(12) Service Area Signs
High and expressway service area signs are white words, patterns and borders, blue background, which can use text messages or standard pattern messages, but the two can not be mixed, and the information conveyed include: food and beverage, telephone, gas (oil), lodging, hospitals, camping, etc., but can not be displayed in the same sign more than six service facilities information.
If the service area exit and the main line of the interchange exit to take a unified number. Then the service area sign in the upper edge of the additional exit number sign, if the service area exit does not take a unified numbering, then in the service area sign at the bottom of the additional next exit prompt message “ NEXT EXIT ” or “ SECOND RIGHT ” and so on. The first teaser sign of the service area is set 2km or 1mile before the exit, and the exit indicator sign is also required at the exit bifurcation point. If the service facility cannot be seen when entering the exit ramp, a small service area sign should be added to the exit ramp with arrows to guide the direction of arriving at the service facility.
If the distance between the current service area and the next service area is more than 16km (10miles), then the distance to the next service area should be set up as an advance warning sign “NEXT SERVICES -- km (-- MILES)”. This advance warning sign is normally placed in a separate block and attached to the lower edge of the exit sign for the current service area.
