A flat aluminum plate with a rectangular cross-section and a thickness equal to or greater than 6 mm. Specifically aluminum plates with a thickness between 4.5 mm and 10 mm are called medium-thick aluminum plates, aluminum plates with a thickness between 10 mm and 50 mm are called thick aluminum plates, and aluminum plates with a thickness greater than 50 mm are called extra-thick aluminum plates.
Medium-thick aluminum plates are used in various fields, such as the transportation industry.
For example, hot-rolled aluminum plates, such as 5754-O, 5754-F, and 5083-O, have specifications of 25 mm to 30 mm in thickness, 1250 mm to 1500 mm in width and 2500~3000 mm in length. They are used in containers, warehouses, pressure vessels, structural parts, transportation, frames, ships, shore platforms, and tools.
Cold rolled aluminum sheet, such as 5754f, 5086h24, 5083o, has the specifications of thickness 5~5mm to 6mm, width 2000mm to 2500mm, length 6000mm to 8000mm, and is used in containers, warehouses, pressure vessels, structural parts, transportation, ships, shore platforms, shells, partition boards, etc.
6082t651 . The specifications are thickness 5mm to 15mm, width 1000mm to 2000mm, length 200mm to 3400mm, and is used in structural parts, machine plates, templates, tools, machined parts, highway railway transportation, container equipment, ships, and shore platforms.
Pickling of medium and thick aluminum sheet
Some aluminum alloy aluminum sheets have high surface quality requirements, so the surface of the aluminum sheet must be pickled, especially the aluminum sheet after quenching in the salt bath furnace, which must be pickled to remove the nitrate residue and dirt on the surface of the aluminum sheet.
Pickling is carried out after the aluminum plate is quenched. The process is to first place the aluminum plate in a nitric acid tank with a concentration of about 6% for pickling, then rinse it in a cold water tank, and then wash it with warm water. The water temperature does not need to be too high and should be controlled below 40 °C , otherwise it will cause aging of the aluminum plate.
