Aluminum is rolled into the required thickness by a rolling mill, so aluminum plates aluminum coils, and aluminum strips need to be rolled by a rolling mill.
A rolling mill is generally composed of three parts: the main driving motor, the transmission device, and the working machine base.


1. The main motor is the power source of the rolling mill. It converts electrical energy into mechanical energy to rotate the rollers. The main motor is divided into two types: DC motor and AC motor.
The power of the main motor depends on the purpose of the rolling mill, the specifications of the rolled aluminum alloy and the productivity.


2. The rolling mill's rotating device includes a reducer, a gear base, a connecting shaft, a coupling, and a motor.
The motor's motion and energy are transmitted to the working machine base through the transmission device to complete the rolling process.

The reducer reduces the spindle speed to meet the rolling speed requirements at a certain speed ratio. When the roller speed is the same as the main motor speed, a reducer is not required.

 

The gear base transmits power to the rolls. It is generally composed of two or three cylindrical herringbone gears with equal diameters according to the number of rolls. A gear base is formed in the vertical plane and installed in a closed rotating box. When a single roll or two motors drive two rolls respectively, the gear base can be omitted.


The flywheel is used to store and release energy and balance the load of the main motor. It stores energy when the rollers are idling and releases energy by slowing down during rolling.

The connector connects the gear seat and the roller to transmit power.

The coupling uses the gear as a reducer to connect the main motor to transmit power. The coupling is divided into the main coupling and the motor coupling.

3. The working stand of the rolling mill is the core part of the rolling mill, which directly bears the metal shaping and deformation resistance, and mainly includes working parts such as rollers, bearing seats, archways, pressing mechanisms and balancing devices.

 
According to the number of rollers, the working stand of the rolling mill has many different structural forms, such as two-roller type, three-roller type, four-roller type and multi-roller type. It is the main working part of the rolling mill and is directly related to the output and quality of the rolled aluminum alloy.
